Affectionately known as "GMD Prefolds". These are hard-to-find, top quality, heavyweight 100 % cotton twill diapers. These are the real thing, and so very well made. They are far superior to the store bought kind, and will stand up to repeated washings, but of course no diaper lasts forever so don't believe unrealistic claims. Using prefolds is a very economical way to diaper! It works very well. Plus, they wash and dry very easily and never get that "icky polyester stink". Use a Snappi Fastener, Boingo or pins to fasten it for a very secure fit. Or, just fold the diaper in thirds and place it in a wrap style cover. You will find the "prefold love". We feel these are the very best fabric, 100% Indian cotton, 4-8-4 ply, with the strongest edge stitching available, and custom sized for prefold perfection, exclusive to GMD. They are not available online anywhere else, and are not marketed under any other brand name but Cloth-eez®.
100% cotton exclusive of trim. Made in Pakistan.
They are certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO TEX® and of course meet CPSIA standards, too.
This version is unbleached cotton. Unbleached cotton is usually the softest and fluffiest of the three versions (white, unbleached or organic). But it can be hard to tell them apart and the difference is slight in the first place. Please wash several times before first use to wash off the natural cotton oils before full absorbency is reached. This "prepping" (4 or more wash cycles) is a one-time thing. Link to more washing information.
Please note that you can use any mainstream laundry detergent on cotton diapers. You do not need to purchase "special for cloth diapers" detergents. We do not sell them and they are not needed on prefolds or Workhorse diapers. Keep it simple. Use what you would normally use on your regular household laundry, however we recommend unscented choices for all laundry products for baby.
I love my cloth-eez prefolds. I have preemie, NB, small, Medium, large and XL. I use the outgrown sizes as doublers. They wash easy and are so comfy.
Bought intermediates to size up for a chubby 4 month old. They work quite well!
I love the products of Green Mountain diapers.
I previously purchased unbleached prefolds and they were TERRIFIC. However now after 3 more children in cloth, white it where it's at. The prep was 2 or 3 washes (can't recall.) These obviously work just as well as the unbleached. The white are also, as Karen had mentioned in a description, slightly larger then unbleached. I bought an ENTIRE nb to potty train set: 2 yellow edge, 24 blue edge, and 2 green edge. I have had Bummis and truly there's NO DIFFERENCE in performance. GMD prefolds are simply cheaper!!!
We have been using GMD prefolds with Thirsties duo wraps since my son was one week old. They've worked great for us! Good quality, the varying sizes match their weight/age chart, and they work with snappis. We have had newborn, small, medium and now large. Hint to the wise though: get more than 2 dozen newborn diapers unless you want to wash everyday. I know many days we changed 20 diapers because all of a sudden we only had 4 left! Oh, and they fit well in the few pocket diapers we have when trifolded.
