A basic white diaper cover for brand new babies.
Size Zero 4 to 10 pounds (perfect for the umbilical cord time with prefolds or newborn flats, but Size Zero does not fit over Newborn Workhorse)
Larger sizes are no longer stocked. This size is uniquely little. It is hard to find a cover that actually works under the cord but this is it. Keep in mind that it will get outgrown quickly though. It is ok to skip this size entirely. Yet it is nice to have options so you can choose what you'd like to have and what works for your budget.
This cover is made of our signature very soft fabric and it is full cut in the rear. Leg gussets, adjustable rise, true sizes so you don't have piles of fabric bulk to fold down in the front yet each size still does have one rise adjustment which helps you get a perfect fit as baby grows and changes shape. It has two rows of waist snaps but you don't have to snap them directly above each other. It is ok to leave the waist snap wider or make the leg snap snugger if needed to get the right fit for your baby.
Care Tag Instructions: Hand or machine wash warm. Hang or tumble dry low, remove promptly. No bleach. No fabric softeners.
SIZE ZERO - READ THIS - The Size Zero could be the nicest newborn cover there is for fitting under the umbilical cord, but choose a diaper under it that is small enough to actually fit under it. For prefolds, choose newborn, newbie or preemie prefolds under it. For flats, choose size Half in Birdseye flats (can fit over Newborn Muslin Flat, but only on the full rise setting). Newborn orange edge prefolds are the most popular diaper under size Zero. Newborn Workhorse need size One over them, not size Zero. However, some customers do tell us that they are able to use Newborn Workhorse under it and like it that way, but I (Karen) don't recommend that. I think that's not easy to do and it might not work for all babies, depending on the shape of the baby. I'll still recommend the newborn, newbie or preemie prefolds under size Zero.
For a preemie baby, layer a few Cloth-eez Muslin Wipes or use one Paper Towel Alternative cloth or choose preemie prefolds.
Tip: Layer in a Muslin Wipe to catch meconium over any cloth diaper.
White is a beautiful, classic diaper color. The fabric is so soft and the elastic is gentle and stretchy for baby's comfort. Down the road after lots of use and washings, this softer, 1 mil cover is likely to wear out faster than a thicker 2 mil cover such as Thirsties, but that is the tradeoff for the softness. In size zero, even with use on a quiver full of babies, that will not matter because they only fit for a short time. 1 mil and 2 mil refers to the thickness of the waterproof TPU layer. If you want soft, this is it!
The size Zero is the best for the cord healing time but gets outgrown quickly.

Fabric Content: 100% polyester with TPU laminate. CPSIA compliant. Standard elastic at legs and waist which may contain latex. Nickel-free nylon snaps. Made in China.
Care details: Machine wash warm, hang or tumble dry, remove promptly. Do not pull on warm elastics. Do not over-dry. We do not recommend washing covers with the absorbency inner diapers. "Remove covers from the dryer promptly" means that in mixed fabric loads, covers may be dry before other items in the load are dry such as cottons, for example so take out the covers when they are dry to avoid overheating and over-drying which may damage the waterproof layer or elastics. It may be easier to just hang them to dry. No bleach (chlorine bleach and oxygen bleach are both bleaches). No fabric softeners. It is better to store covers separately from the dirty diapers to help avoid set-in odors. Storing covers separately makes washing easier.
This baby is 4 weeks old and 9 pounds. Snap the rise down to either cord dip setting as the cord stump heals. There are many different ways to use the snaps and adjust and customize this tiny little cover to get the perfect fit on preemie or average newborn babies (who have a birth weight under about 9.5 pounds. This is tiny!)
