Two layers of unbleached organic 100% cotton birdseye fabric sewn together with a center seam.
Pictures shown after washing. Birdseye fabric has little "birds" woven into the fabric. This is much smoother than terry fabric. Birdseye has a nice amount of "grippiness" to get stuff off with a balance of being smooth enough for softness. Two layers gives you the right level of thickness for absorbency, plus two layers of fabric helps them stay flatter. It gives them enough thickness so that it is easy to grab one. Single layer look-alikes curl up, stick together and are more difficult to handle. Having two layers of fabric makes them much better and easier to use. Paper towels can't compare to two layers of birdseye cotton. Simple, yet so effective.
They can also be used as preemie diapers or layered as newborn cotton diapers.
We added a small seam across the wipe to help them keep their shape, yet cotton shrinkage will vary a bit of course. Like all unbleached cotton, wash several times in a regular size load of laundry, perhaps through 5-8 cycles, on hot with detergent before using. This prep washing is needed to wash off the natural cotton oils present in unbleached cotton. It needs to be washed off before the full absorbency of the cotton is reached.
Made of organic cotton, exclusive of trim. Made in Pakistan. In packs of 12 wipes.
A storage idea:
You don't have to roll them but this is pretty. A simple stack on the counter or in a drawer works fine.
New! Also available in white cotton.
Go to Cloth-eez Paper Towel Alternative - white cotton version.
Also available in a group of 4 packs as a Kit.
Comparison of various kinds and sizes of these and the baby wipes version. They are the same fabric (choose white or unbleached organic) and construction (two layers with center seam), but different sizes. Shown new in this picture, before normal cotton shrinkage.
First bought these on a whim to try to reduce my paper towel use. I wound up keeping them in the nursery and I use them for everything...wiping up dribbled milk after pumping, as a burp cloth, under baby's head on the changing table if I expect some spit up...the list goes on. I bought another set because I was using them so much and needed a taller stack! They wash well and they're nice and soft. Definitely recommend!
I absolutely love my new set of unpaper towels! I got the unbleached kind. I keep them in a big wood bowl in my kitchen and they are not only more attractive to look at that a roll of paper towels, they exceed the absorption of PT’s more than I could have imagined! When we juice fruits & veggies I always like to have a clean-up rag for all the spills and moisture- and these are my new go-to. Plus you can wet them, rinse them, use them a bunch of times before they need to be washed. I see a long life ahead for these unpaper towels - as my baby first learns to eat solids, then as toddler face clean up rags. I love the rounded corners, too.
I bought the wipe version of these originally for my baby and loved how absorbent and easy to clean they were. We previously used microfiber cloths instead of paper towels, but those weren’t working as well and now these work great!
I hesitated because I wasn’t sure my husband would use them. We both love them and now I feel like we need more.
I absolutely love these! Use them daily! They are such great quality and it’s been a nice alternative. I got tired of buying and using so many paper towels. I was hesitant at first but my friend sold me on these and this brand and I do not regret buying them!
