Why wool? Wool is breathable. This cover is a favorite at nighttime because once prepared it virtually never leaks. The wool is totally untreated and is naturally antibacterial thus doesn't retain odors. Is wool itchy? Commercial wool can be, but this wool is untreated and wonderfully soft. Don't be afraid to try wool! This style has been loved for generations because it is so effective. The 2 layer double knit stretches for a gentle and comfortable fit over a very wide size range. A must for the family bed! Nighttime heavy wetter? This is the answer. It's cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Yes, really! That's because it's so breathable. Wool does need to be hand washed, and occasional lanolization is helpful. But washing is needed only very infrequently, sometimes only once a month. Wool airs out to fresh easily. View our video of how to wash wool here. Don't forget your wool care products. This wool is produced according to the organic standards. Lovely Merino wool. It was called Demeter Certified Organic, which is the highest of pure standards. Those standards are still maintained for beautiful Disana wools. Disana is a wonderful family business located in Germany, dedicated for 2 generations to organic wools and cottons, long before "organic" became a "thing". These are positively beautiful covers. It is knitted wool. We like the nice long legs this has. No leg gaps with this one! Once fully broken in, the performance is great. Once prepared, I have never, ever had a leak from one! I think this is the only cover I can can say that about, under even my kiddo's hard and deliberate testing - pushing diapers and covers to their limits. It might be too small in the legs on extremely chubby legs. It is designed to shrink some, and should be prepared by handwashing and felting somewhat (shrunk a bit) before first use. Never machine wash this cover. Do not put it in the dryer. Gently hand wash only. Be sure to add the free How-To Booklet to your cart which has instructions on how to prepare them for use. It is normal and expected for the very fine merino wool to pill with use because it is very soft wool. It's OK to size up if you are in the upper end of the weight ranges that we suggest as they do shrink. Handwash only. Made in Germany.
New colors Lagoon and Bordeaux.
This picture is help show the some colors more accurately. The rose is a dusty rose color. The red has some orange tones in it. It is not a cherry red but is more orangy-red. The grey is really grey and not a brownish-grey. The blue is an abalone blue more like the GroVia Abalone blue. It is not royal blue.
We have the BIGGEST SIZE! It's on a different page. Size 110-116, tag says 4-5 years, made in natural only. This larger item is available here.

The diaper cover was very effective in its waterproof-ness (especially after lanolizing). I was advised to buy one size up due to shrinkage, but presently after one hand wash in warm water it seems like the cover has actually stretched out rather than shrunk, so it's too big for my little guy. Maybe it will continue to shrink with more washes?
Thank you for your review. Yes, it will definitely shrink from the size it was when you received it. We provide our own size recommendations on our website. If you followed our size recommendations please contact us directly about fit issue concerns and we will be happy to assist. You can reach us best at email@example.com
If you are on the fence about getting one I highly recommend it, we previously had a imagine wool soaker she out grew and I can easily see the quality difference in the Disana. I love how comfy they are and they really do felt in all the right places on their own as you use them more.
I love these covers! I used a size 62/68 from birth and have been using a 74/80 since about 6 months -- he'll be a year this week. I have found the original sizing to be accurate thus far--my son is over 21 lbs, fairly lean, and I think will still fit in the 6-12 mo. (74/80) size for a bit yet. I mostly just use it for naps (with a workhorse fitted) and sometimes overnight, because it's so comfy for sleeping! I felted the wet zone a tiny bit when I got it but I've mostly just let it happen naturally. I don't think the wool has shrunk much at all because I have only washed the cover once in over 5 months! (It doesn't smell at all and he often wakes up dry from naps.) Can't decide which color to get in the next size :)
I bought one of these to try as a nighttime cover for my 18 month old daughter. I was initially a little intimidated to felt the "wet zone" myself, and I was particularly cautious not to over felt the edges and not be able to get the cover on my definitely-not-small child :). I used it the night after I felted it and have been in love ever since. I even bought a second one. Sometimes her diaper underneath can get a little twisted around and then she is a little damp in the morning, nothing either of us seem to mind. And they're so darn cute.
The disana wool diaper cover is absolutely amazing. I prepped them per GMD’s instructions for wool & I used a bit of Eucalan and slightly prefelted the wet zone. I use a mix of flats & prefolds underneath. Baby has been wearing them for almost a month, they are starting to “naturally” felt more, but they still smell just as fresh as the first day he wore them. I haven’t even used a pul cover since getting the wool cover. I wish I’d tried wool covers first, so much nicer & easier in my opinion than the pul covers.
