Wizard Uno all-in-one diaper for new babies. This is the newborn version of the One-size Wizard Uno. Using only the best design and materials, Uno provides excellent absorbency and a great fit. Of the newborn diapers in the all-in-one style, this is the softest.
Size: 6-12 pounds.
A one-step cloth diapering system - just snap and go!
Features:
Notes from Karen: It is a true all-in-one which means that there is nothing to stuff. It is ready to use as it is. The design is fantastic. The inner absorbency is sewn down in the front and back but not attached near the leg area. The edge of the absorbency is curved up with the softest binding and gentle hidden elastic so it catches what it needs to catch - an inner gusset on the absorbency section. Also, the waterproof part has a single gusset which has the softest nylon edge binding. This is the "least marking" of all the leg gusset designs that I know of. Nylon really is less "marky" (it doesn't leave red marks on baby's legs) than the common knit polyester fabrics on other brands. This is fantastic for delicate newborn skin. Don't worry that it is a single gusset. The inner cotton gusset catches it and the single gusset part works as the backup protection very well which together works as two gussets. It works. Even the snaps are gentle and easy to snap and unsnap. Gentle, luxurious comfort is what Mother-ease is all about.
Pros: In my opinion (Karen) this is the most comfortable newborn diaper. It is really easy to use and wash. Highly recommended if you budget allows it (as always, stay in budget). It is very gentle on baby's legs.
Cons: More expensive than other options. Add a doubler if needed to boost absorbency in the upper end of the weight range.

About Mother-ease fabrics:
Mother-ease custom knit fabrics move wetness quickly, in order to obtain the highest absorbency, and release soil, making them easy to launder. You will not find these fabrics on a shelf at your local fabric store. The fabric has been extensively tested and is made
Fabric Content:
Natural Cotton Terry which is specially knit over a polyester core. Polyester is knit into the base of the fabric to provide strength, durability, and shrinkage control. This thin central core does not touch the baby. Only the soft cotton is next to the baby. This is the softest, most comfortable all-in-one style diaper there is, I think (says Karen, founder of Green Mtn Diapers). It runs a little bigger than the Workhorse in size Newborn, so you get a bit more time of use out of it before baby outgrows it but is still adjusts down very well for a brand new baby. It is more pliable and less bulky than Thirsties Natural Newborn All-In-One diapers, therefore Thirsties will beat this for absorbency by a bit, but since you change a newborn baby constantly at first anyhow, that is ok. As baby grows, boost it with a cotton wipe if needed. Lay in a Cloth-eez Muslin Baby Wipe as a meconium-catcher with this diaper or any newborn diaper setup. Enjoy these if your budget allows it. Stay in your budget.
The polyester core lengthens the lifespan of the natural cotton fabric. The result is a very stretchy, comfortable and reliable product with only cotton next to baby's bottom.
The polyester makes up the netted base of the fabric that the natural cotton is woven through. You cannot see or feel this polyester core, it is just there to ensure your diapers last as long as you need them to.
This custom Mother-ease fabric is durable, soft and gives you the natural beauty of cotton along with the strength of the polyester base. It typically lasts longer than other 100% cotton diapers. Soft knit edges make it very comfy, too.
Made in Canada.
Content: Inner: 100% cotton knit with a 100% polyester base grid under the cotton terry knit which does not touch baby. Outer: 100% polyester with TPU.
Care: Pre-rinse or do a short cycle with warm water and detergent.
Wash the cloth diapers in a full cycle, at the highest water level that makes sense for the load size, using hot water and detergent. Rinse completely. Tip, flip it inside out to allow the cotton part to clean better. Do not "ball them up".
Avoid detergents that contain oxygenated bleaching agents, as they can be harsh on your baby's skin and cause damage to the elastics, bindings, and natural fabrics of the cloth diaper.
After washing, you can choose to either line dry or tumble dry the diapers.
Prep before first use. The cotton is unbleached so wash several times before using to wash off the natural cotton oils to reach the full absorbency of the cotton.
