This kit includes a FREE beautiful organic cotton Swaddle and a set of FREE GMD slide lock diaper pins.
This kit is for diapers, wipes and a swaddle for newborn baby. It does not include the diaper covers. We recommend about 6 diaper covers to go over the diapers. Four covers is a get-by amount and 8 is really better than 6. Six covers is the common recommendation and it works fine. Again, diaper covers are not included.
Definition: The diaper is the absorbent part and the cover is the waterproof part that goes over the diaper.
This made of organic cotton kit includes:
The free 16 page GMD How-To Wash Diapers Booklet is also included and a set of FREE GMD Slide Lock Diaper Pins
If you just know that you want only organic cotton touching your baby's bottom, this is is a nice setup for the newborn time.
What is the difference between this organic kit with unbleached or white? Not much. Mostly the color of them. Unbleached takes more initial washes than the white because you have to wash off the natural cotton oils before they become fully absorbent. Unbleached might hide stains a bit better but the tan color lightens with time. But both are made of organic cotton. Choose the look of the color that you prefer. Countries of origin found here.

This product (and Karen’s description) took the guesswork out of starting a cloth diaper system for me. These are so soft and fluffy and they’ve been used for numerous things besides diapering - i.e.: brown-edged diaper as a changing pad or as a “towel” for naked tummy time, burp rags, even some as clean-up rags for ones baby will no longer use. I also appreciate the extras to trial as baby grows.
Not totally finished prepping these prefolds but super excited to use them when baby comes. I'm really glad to have found this site because after searching online for cloth diapers, this was the only place that explained cloth diapering in a way that made sense to me and gave me the confidence to do it. And I'd much rather use reusable cloth over disposable. Shipped and arrived fast.
After researching all the different cloth diaper options, I settled on using prefolds and covers. I am very happy that Green Mountain Diapers carries this kit, because it makes it SO easy to start out cloth diapering with prefolds. I trust the quality of Cloth-Eez diapers, because so far, they have performed very well. You get a lot of diapers for a great price, and with the inclusion of one diaper each of the larger sizes you can see which option will work when you eventually need to buy more. The kit comes with pins, but I recommend you get Snappis and/or Boingos to secure the diapers. I actually like both for different purposes, but of course the choice is yours. In addition, I find that the kit is very affordable, and is a great way to begin to build your stash. The included wipes are okay-- you will still have to prep them like the diapers, but for me, they still left fuzzies on my baby's bottom, so I'm not sure if I didn't prep them all the way or if they do in fact leave fuzzies. The good thing with cloth wipes is that, even if you don't use them as wipes, they can be useful for other purposes around the house. The included instruction on how to prep and wash the diapers is a treasure trove of knowledge, and I still refer to it from time to time even though I have already washed plenty of diapers.
Everything arrived as described, and I've prepped them according to the instructions. The prefolds do shrink and become more plush, as it says on the website, and they become more absorbent with each wash. Can't wait to use them!
We ended up going with a cloth diaper service that came to us as a gift from family. Otherwise, we would have pursued this option.
