The 8% savings shown is the savings for buying in groups of dozens vs. individual diapers. This is our regular pricing. They are cheaper by the dozen. The price of 11 individual diapers is close to the same as 1 dozen, which is like getting 1 free diaper when you buy in dozens.
Prices vary by size. The more cotton => the more it absorbs => the bigger it is. Prefolds are very economical diapers with many uses later on, too. Cloth-eez® Prefolds actually fit. A diaper that fits works best. One-size-fits-all really doesn't "fit all". Does a diaper that fits a 2 year old really fit your newborn? Nope. The right size for the right age and weight works best! Diapers that fit and wash easily are diapers you will use. These are the "top of the pile" diapers that you will reach for first. Well-loved.
Affectionately known as "GMD Prefolds". These are hard-to-find, top quality, heavyweight 100% cotton twill diapers. These are the real thing, and so very well made. They are far superior to the store bought kind, and will stand up to repeated washings. Be realistic about the longevity of any diapering item and don't be wowed by unrealistic claims. They are durable and last very well but not forever. They wash and dry very easily and never get that "icky polyester stink". The twill weave allows pins to slide through them easily without making holes in the fabric. But you don't have to fasten them. You can just fold the diaper in thirds and place it in a wrap style cover. The nature of the weave also allow the wash water to flow through for easy washing. You will not be disappointed in these wonderful, versatile diapers. There are many brands of prefolds on the market, but we feel these are the very best fabric, 100% organic cotton grown in India with the strongest edge stitching available. Custom-sized with many choices for prefold perfection. These diapers are exclusive to GMD and are not available anywhere else, and are not marketed under any other brand name but Cloth-eez®. Novice or Small? They are the same size but the Novice is a little trimmer due to 6 center layers instead of the 8 center layers of size Small. The difference is slight in actual absorbency and slight in the thickness also. It's either-or and it doesn't really matter. Why offer two choices of the same "small" size then? We like the slightly trimmer novice for people who want to skip size newborn because that difference does make it a bit easier to fit the novice size on a brand new baby. Also the trimmer novice is better when being used to stuff a synthetic pocket diaper. Other than that, or when "as trim as possible" is the priority, most people get Newborn and then Small and are happy with that. Tight budgets wanting to to buy the fewest sizes possible should get Novice and then Intermediate in order to get the most flexibility in sizes and fit. Doublers are needed at some point anyhow, no matter which size prefolds are chosen, so get some doublers, too.
Intermediate or Medium? Both are "mediums" for about 4 to 20 months old. They are very similar but Intermediate is slightly wider which makes the absorbency nearly the same even though the center layering is two layers less at 6 layers than medium which has 8 layers. The extra width makes up for that layering difference very closely. You might choose the edge color stitching that you prefer and go with that. Chubby baby? Choose Intermediate. Tall baby? Choose Medium. Average baby? Either is fine. If you like to fasten the diaper, Intermediate could be better for the extra width but medium fastens just fine on most babies. Medium is the most popular size. Intermediate is an alternate size to medium for those who prefer a slightly wider prefold. The ones you own are the ones you will use and they will work just fine. One FREE pair of pins per order is available with purchase of this item when you add the pins to your cart through this free pins link. Yet prefolds can be used without fasteners! Just fold in thirds and place in a cover or stuff into a pocket diaper. There are many ways to use them. Versatile and handy even after the diapering years as rags and more for excellent long-term value. You can't go wrong by owning prefolds. You will love them.
The cotton and retains its natural cotton oils and natural tan color. We purchase certified organic cotton which is then woven to our specifications, then cut, folded and sewn to become these beautiful diapers. Only the raw cotton that we buy is organic, not the entire process, therefore they are not certified. The entire process would need to be certified which is beyond the scope of our small business. We are still happy to make them out of organic cotton even though they cannot be certified. We are proud to achieve the OEKO-TEX-100 certification which means that they have been tested for harmful substances according to Standard 100 and passed. No product of this type has full certification to our knowledge.
Please wash several times before first use. Expect to wash them through quite a few preparation cycles to wash off the natural cotton oils before full absorbency is reached. This "prepping" (4 or more wash cycles) is a one-time thing. Link to more washing information.
You do not need to purchase "special for cloth diapers" detergents. We do not sell them and they are not needed on cotton diapers. Keep it simple. Use what you would normally use on your regular household laundry that works in your water, but we strongly suggest fragrance-free versions for use around a baby.
Content: Contains 100% organic unbleached cotton (that is, we buy organic raw cotton to make them) but the final product is not certified. It is certified to OKEO-TEX Standard 100 and the certificate number is 20.HPK.35238. 100% cotton, exclusive of trim. Trim treads are polyester for strength. Made in Pakistan.
Care: Machine wash/dry. Please wash several times in hot water before first use.
