No synthetic or disposable fiber can compare with the comfort of natural silk plus the breathability of merino wool.
Silk on both sides with merino wool inside. You can use either side so it's faster and easier to use since the silk is on both sides. Breathable, absorbent, soothing. So much more comfy than the throw away kind. They are 3 layers: silk on one side, wool inside and silk on the other side. Silk is soothing and offers the natural healing properties of silk. Wool is breathable and absorbent. They are absorbent but do not have a waterproof layer which is really nice for breathability. Excess milk will be absorbed by the wool and stays fresh longer than any other fabric (without getting that sour milk smell as quickly that the cotton ones get, in my experience). You may only need 2 pairs for the entire time if you are not a heavy leaker. These pads are really more for healing and soothing, yet they will take up some leakage. Heavy leakers might need to double up. You could use the soothing silk next to skin for the comfort and healing properties of them and put another pad over the outside for a moisture barrier layer if you find that the absorbency is not enough for you. These do not have a true waterproof (synthetic) layer thus they are very breathable. They are luxurious and soft, soothing, natural and breathable. Hand wash. Lay flat to dry. Do not lanolize. Made in Germany.
These are also nice in the late stages of pregnancy when nipples may feel very sensitive to everything. The silk is soothing and gentle. Silk is hypoallergenic and skin is very happy and comfortable with silk next to it. Some have called it "second skin". Once you try it, you will see the benefits of the silk.

I never thought I needed nursing pads because I don't leak milk, however, I've struggled with sore nipples for years (through nursing several babies). My nipples always burned and cracked and bled. I had painful vasospasms often. I tried every remedy I could find for thrush but nothing helped. On my last order, I added these as an afterthought just to reach the free shipping amount. My first day using them, I noticed my nipples seemed to feel slightly better. After using them everyday for about a week, I have no nipple pain at all anymore! I can't believe the solution to YEARS of pain was so simple, but I'm so thankful to have found these! I'll be back to order another pair to make sure I never have to go without again!
I have been using wool for my breast pads for several babies. There was a larger gap between my last two so my older wool ones were gone so I needed to order more. I love Disana brand and so I decided to give these a try. I haven't used them very long (just about 2 weeks) but they feel nice, work well, and wash well (I hand wash the 2 pair I have).
I found washing these too much effort as a new mother with too little sleep and not enough free time.
These are so comfortable!! And they do a great job! I really love them. They are comfortable against my skin, no nasty adhesive, they don't bunch up and they hold up well. I had gotten some cotton reusable nursing pads at the beginning of my nursing journey but they leaked all the time! So I switched and started using the disposable ones until I found these. I decided to give them a shot and am so glad I did. I love not throwing away a bunch of garbage, plus they are just so much nicer to wear!
These are absorbent and soft, but are a bit bulky (32E, just...ridiculous) and you can see them under a padded nursing bra. I do like them in a nighttime unlined nursing bra, they help make a pad under your breast which is pretty fantastic and makes nursing more comfortable with large *******.
