A basic white diaper old fashioned pull-on diaper cover.
Newborn 7-12 pounds
Small 8 - 18 pounds
Medium 16 - 26 pounds
Large 22 to 32 pounds
Thin soft fabric with gentle fold-over elastic style leg opening. Simple design. No complicated snaps and nothing to pinch or bind on baby's tummy. Wipe-clean interior.
Use this over a fitted diaper such as Workhorse or a fastened prefold or flat diaper. Do not tri-fold under this. The diaper needs to be fastened, such as with diaper pins, so that you can pull up the cover. Pull up and pull down this cover.
Pros: Easy to put on. Comfortable for baby. Thin and trim. It smashes down to almost nothing under clothing.
Cons: If the poop isn't contained by the diaper underneath, then it can be messy to pull it down. Shoes probably need to come off baby if you need to get the cover all the way off. Sometimes you can just change the diaper and pull the same cover back up though.
Different styles of covers are for different reasons and different priorities. It is nice to have choices. Years ago, everyone used this style and it worked. It still works.
Handy for use with EC, Elimination Communication.
Pull-ons are great for keeping the diaper on an undressing toddler.
Great for double-covering. Put it over your pocket or other diapering system as extra-insurance when you just can't have a leak or a wicking problem.
