What does "melange" mean? It means mixture. In this case it means a mixture of colors. It is cuddly and warm, yet also balances out the temperature. This is the same size but a little bit thicker than the Disana Knitted Merino Woolen Baby Blanket. Handwash only. Made in Germany.
This is made from the same material the diaper pull-ons are made of. It seems like it would be easy to snag and for sure don't want this felted! Not a toddler-friendly blanket, in my opinion. Although, I bought it for baby, my toddler steals it A LOT as he loves how "fluffy" it is. It's a very nice blanket.
I'm very happy with the quality of this blanket. Customer service is also outstanding.
Seriously, the Disana Wool Baby Blanket is practically perfect. I love the feel of quality wool, so supple. Warm. Smells real. The rose colored blanket is so elegant. I would not recommend this item to someone who does not understand the care of a wool product, but the Disana wool will be used for my newborn infants and only in my room. I got colors to match my bedding, and the moses basket we have in the room. I would not purchase this pricey item and give it to my wild toddler, or my older crazy sons. When my newest little baby outgrows the blanket, it will be gently put away as an heirloom piece. What I love about GMD is they are honest about their products. I have read numerous suggestions on their site that items like this are not necessary, and it's true it isn't...but for me, a mom who has never had friends or family to support me or give us baby gifts, this is a gift to myself and my new child. If you are into beautiful wool products, you won't be disappointed in this blanket.
So far I love it! However, I haven't actually used it with baby yet as I'm still pregnant. I used a few wool pieces with my firstborn for actual diapering but as this baby is due in winter I decided to invest in some wool clothes and bedding. I can tell already this will be a favorite blanket! I'll certainly be using it myself as a lap blanket until Baby does arrive. It is the same fabric/weave/weight as the Wool Jacket Sweater. Warm but certainly breathable. It has quite a lot of stretch so it won't be suitable as a swaddling blanket (which I expected). This and the Jacket Sweater are ever so slightly thinner than the Romper (I'm guessing the yarn used for this is a 3-ply thread and the Romper is a 4-ply so the Romper is a bit warmer).
