Our Sherpa Diapers are 100% cotton.  Usually when you find sherpa fabric it is a polyester blend but ours is all cotton.   It is two layers of a thick stretchy sherpa knit.  We don't make them in size newborn because it is too thick for a newborn baby. Since it is more dense than prefold fabric it can be hard to get pins through it. If you pin them, keep your pins sharp and lubricate them by poking them into a bar of soap to help them slide through the fabric more easily. These may be best for trifolding or as a night layer under a quick-absorbing Cloth-eez doubler made of prefold fabric.  Because it is dense it acts a lot like hemp acts. It doesn't absorb as quickly as the more open, looser weave of twill prefold fabric, birdseye or muslin, but it is a thirsty fabric.  It is squishy and stretchy but not as bendy as prefold fabric.  Try the large as a newborn changing pad.  It is fun to try something different for a change.  Write a review and let people know what you think of it and how you use it.

Please wash several times before first use. Please note that you can use any mainstream laundry detergent on cotton diapers. You do not need to purchase "special for cloth diapers" detergents. We do not sell them and they are not needed on Cloth-eez diapers.  Keep it simple. Use what you would normally use on your regular household laundry.

Note: The pictures were taken AFTER washing so that you see how they actually look in real life.  Buy in packs of 6 for best value. We also offer then individually in case you want to just try one first to see if you like it.

I love this diaper! (Medium Sherpa prefold)

I love this diaper! I have 2 kids a 22month 24lbs boy and a 5month 15lbs girl and this works for both It’s a little bigger than the medium/red edge normal prefold which makes it pefect for night time. I use it newspaper pad folded (fold down the front and then fold into thirds) and stuff into a bumgenius or thirsties pocket diaper for my son at night. He is potty trained during the day and only occasionally wets when he wakes up in the morning so I can’t speak to using it as a regular nighttime diaper but since when he wets in the morning it is buckets and we don’t have leaks I’d say it is amazing. Super absorbent. For my daughter I do a modified angel wing fold (fold down the back a bit to get the right rise and then roll the sides in after it’s on) I love how soft and absorbent it is for her although very hard to close (minus 1 star). I have not been able to successfully pin it on her even using soap to wax the pins but this would probably not be the issue if I had gotten a size small as there would be less layers to pin through (also I usually use snappis so it might be that a more practiced pinned would not have this issue). It is difficult to get the snappi to stay in place but not impossible. I definitely like these. They wash and dry easily.

Very absorbent

Great quality- if folded as a trifold booster, too thick in my opinion- but could be used as a pocket insert for a heavy wetter.

We prefer prefolds

Gave these a shot just to test out. We prefer workhorses or a prefold with a liner, to these. The sherpas have a different shape and are a touch more difficult to use.

Not what I expected...

I purchased these for use inside my BumGenius pocket diapers. I have been on the hunt for inserts that are thinner than a trifolded prefold but absorbent enough to keep up with my toddler. These aren’t exactly what I expected... They are, indeed, thinner than a prefold. And they seemed to be quite absorbent. But they are much stiffer than I expected. Even tumble dried, they are as stiff as a line dried prefold. Inside the pocket diapers, they were so bulky and cumbersome for my toddler. For some people, this isn’t a problem at all. I just don’t care for stiff diaper inserts, so I’ve shelved them for now. They may work their way back into my rotation later on, but for now I’m not a fan.

Soft, trim and absorbent

These come out of the wash soft and absorbent. Pad-folded, they are not even as thick as Birdseye one size flats, however they absorb about 250 ml (after excess liquid is gently squeezed out and subtracted from total liquid poured on). I'm very pleased! Wipes from this same fabric would be superb.
