Fabric outer: 80% polyamide, 20% elastane. Inner fabric: 100% polyester, polyurethane laminated. It feels very much like a regular swimsuit.
Imse vimse swim diapers are high quality and made in many size for a perfect fit. Side snaps on one side make for easy on and off changing and don't snag your swimsuit. Don't size up in any swim diaper. You need the size that will fit correctly because if the swim diaper is too big on baby it may not function properly.
Washing: Remove as much solid matter as possible. Place soiled swim diaper in a dry diaper pail. No soaking necessary. Wash on warm with detergent as needed. Tumble dry low. Do NOT use bleach or fabric softeners.
Note from Karen: The important thing to know about all washable, reusable swim diapers is that they are designed to contain poop. Use a diaper when a diaper is needed, such as in the car seat on the way to the swimming place. A swim diaper is not the same thing as a diaper and it not the same thing as a diaper cover. The fit is different. Proper swim diapers fit snuggly. They will not allow a big air bubble to form inside them and possibly tip baby's face down as the air rides up, which is scary. The snugger shape of the swim diaper means they don't fill up with a big puddle of heavy water when you lift baby out of the water, either. A swim diaper that fits properly shouldn't be very saggy but should fit reasonably snug to the body. We do not suggest using diaper covers as swim diapers. Choose a real swim diaper for swimming. Why so many size to choose from? A swim diaper needs to fit correctly. A swim diaper that is too large on baby will leak, and you don't want that to happen. After using in a chlorinated pool, rinse out with water as you would a bathing suit to get the chlorine off. Yes, you are supposed to rinse out your bathing suits, too. Getting the chlorine out helps the fabric last at a long time.

The perfect fit means excellent performance. Fit matters a lot with swim diapers. Choose the size that you need for this summer.
I used this swim diaper for my first child, and tried it on my second child a few years later to see if it fit him yet. Before I had a chance to change him back into his regular diaper, he had peed in the swim diaper (in a carpeted room.) No leak! I don't know what would have happened if he had been in the water, but I was relieved and impressed.
This little swim diaper is definitely adorable, & gets three stars for that. But zero stars for doing what a swim diaper should do. We got the correct size for my granddaughter, but when she had a BM while in our pool, some came out the sides. Granted, she's a breastfed baby and their stool is not "solid" in the usual sense of the word. I just expected the diaper to catch and retain it better than it did.
Cute cute cute!!
I love Imse Vimse swim diapers! My favorite thing about them is that they are trim, and not thick with layers of padding. They dry in no time and fit well under swimsuits. The nice fit on the legs gives me a good sense of security if an accident were to happen. I have used this brand since my son was 3 months old, he is 2 now, and I am buying his third one moving up to the next size.
