Bummis Super Whisper print size newborn. This is a much bigger cover. Notice the big gap at the leg. The velcro tab should have been pulled in to overlap each other to snug that up on this little one. Snugging it in would make it workable on her. But even so, the Bummis Original at left does fit smaller and better on skinny little legs, which is why we choose the Bummi Original size newborn as the cover in the Petite Package. |
same baby 6 pounds 2 onces in Imse Vimse Organic size Preemie. She has plenty of growing room in this, and she is not that small at all. This is the largest and softest of the preemie sized covers. A decent enough fit on tiny legs. It comes up tall so
it will fit for longer than Litewrap size preemie does. Litewrap will fit a smaller baby than this one will. Imse preemie is not really a preemie cover but is more of a full term newborn cover. This would be too big on a smaller baby.
5 pounds 4 ounces in orange edge newborn Cloth-eez prefold. The Twist fold narrows it up between the legs to make it workable on a little one. This picture sent in by a customer is a beautiful job doing the Twist. Notice how the front is spread out, and the twist is not straight down between the legs more more towards the front, so that the back of the diaper remains wide to catch the poop.
This orange edge prefold bulkier than the preemie prefolds are, but as with all cloth diapers, more bulk (more cotton) means more absorbency. This orange edge diaper is not the diaper included in the package below. Order separately on the Prefold Diapers page. It can make sense to get the package and the orange edge in the same order. Babies grow, sometimes overnight.

What is the difference between Bummi Original newborn and Litewrap? The preemie size Litewrap comes up higher (is taller) than the Bummi Original. Litewraps are narrower in the waist while Bummi Original is wider at the waist thus it accommodates babies with large livers (big tummies) better. There is no snap on this size Litewrap; it closes with hook and loop closures only.
