Soft stay-dry fabric called micro fleece inside.  Under that layer is absorbent hemp/cotton.   This is all one piece.   No cover is needed and no stuffing needs to be done either.  It is a true all-in-one (AIO).      

The flap is sewn on already.  Nothing to stuff. It's all ready to use as is.  The flap part is sewn only on one end to help is wash more easily and dry more quickly that it would if that part had been fully sewn down.   It makes sense to sew it this way.

 

Diaper Preparation

(This is an important step...don't skip it!!) • Wash warm with detergent and tumble dry, repeating this process 5–6 times before first use (they will continue to gain absorbency with more washing).

Washing

Remove as much solid matter as possible. Place soiled diaper in a dry diaper pail - no soaking necessary. Wash every 2 days on warm or hot (not sanitize) with detergent. Tumble dry low. Do NOT use fabric softeners or water repellant diaper creams
