Look how big the large brown edge Cloth-eez Prefold looks. One-size does not really fit "all". Newborns are newborn-sized people.

There are many ways to diaper a newborn baby. Some favorites are Orange Edge Newborn Prefold Diaper either fastened with a Snappi Fastener or unfastened (just lay it in the cover), with a Bummi Super Whisper over it.
Below, this baby is 10 days old and weighs almost 7 1/2 pounds.

This next baby is about 7 pounds 14 ounces:
Lana Merino Wool size small. All of the pictures below are this same baby in the green shirt, 7 pounds 14 ounces.
Cloth-eez Prefold Diaper orange edge newborn is under all of the covers shown below. Yellow edge is too big for her. This baby is started out small and has just outgrown her preemie size diapers and moved up to orange edge.
Bummis Super Brite size newborn. This can also work for large preemies. It's quite small.
Litewrap size newborn comes up higher than others, thus you can fit a bigger diaper under it, such as a yellow or green edge prefold or an Under the Nile size newborn, for example. This is big on her but workable. A good choice for larger newborns.
Imse Vimse Organic Cover size Preemie, fits very nicely. A shame it's called a preemie cover because it fits average newborns quite nicely.

Bummi Super Whisper size newborn. This fits a little larger than their Super Brite in newborn does. Nice for average size newborn babies.

4 weeks old, 9 pounds 8 ounces
What if my baby is big? This 1 week old's birthweight was 9 pounds 10 ounces, 21 inches long. He's about 9 1/2 pounds in this picture.
13 days old and 9.5 pounds.

Disana Organic Knit Wool pull-on size newborn. Soft and comfy-cozy. It's hard to choose my favorite, but if I had to pick, I think I'd pick this one, but it's a toss up with the lovely Kissa's wool below
2 weeks old, Kissas Wool Lovers size small. Plenty of growing room, 8 pounds 6 ounces. Shown over the pinnned orange edge unbleached Cloth-eez prefold below:
