This wool is felted wool. It doesn't stretch like the knit wools do but it also is more dense and waterproof while being thinner. It's the thinnest of the wools yet it's still extremely effective because it has been felted. You don't need to do any preparation of this cover when it's new like you do with Disana. It's already "broken in" on arrival out of the package, so to speak. It works day or night. At night, it can be very convenient to have the hook and loop closure for a quick change in the middle of the night. It is roomy enough inside to fit the bulk of the overnight diaper and it is high enough in front for good coverage (front of pants stay dry) and low enough on the legs in back to keep clothes and sheets dry. When I want an overnight cover that fastens, this is the one I choose. Breathable wool. Quick to fasten or unfasten. A full cut shape to work well, plus gussets at the legs.
Size Newborn. This baby is 5 weeks old and 11 pounds 11 ounces. He's a very big baby. This cover runs big in size newborn.
Size medium, 9 months old, about 20 pounds. She could probably fit a large already because her legs are chunky. Medium is her size if handwashing, large if machine washing. The 2 pictures below are the same, different views.

You can very gently machine wash this if you have a very gentle cycle on your machine. It will shrink if you do that. Personally I handwash my wools, and do recommend handwashing, but I know a lot of people don't.
Even if you do very gently machine wash (never put them in the dryer!), you still need a good wool wash. A good wool washing product that contains some lanolin is important. Your wool covers will leak or the wool will become dried out if the lanolin is stripped from them with regular wool or delicate wash products. I still strongly recommend handwashing and occasional lanolization, but if you must machine wash, this is the best bet for a wool cover. Washing is needed only very infrequently, sometimes only once a month. Wool airs out to fresh easily. These work well for day or night.
