Gift Registry Information
Green Mountain Diapers uses the service called My Registry for our gift registry. If you have a question about registering not answered here, you can probably find the answer on www.myregistry.com. We love My Registry because you can register for everything, anything on the web, in one place at My Registry.
Information for registrants
Please use the "add to gift registry" buttons at the bottom of most product pages. The buttons are not on the main pages, such as diapers.htm and covers.htm, but are instead found on the "see this on a baby" pages, or click the picture of the item to get to the product page. You'll see the "add to gift registry" button close to the bottom of the page. Not all products are available for gift registry. Right now we don't have SposoEasy available for gift registry because our stock is variable and we might not have what you signed up for when the event occurs. Most items are available, though.
The best thing about this registry is that you can sign up for everything you want from any store, not just this store. That way gift givers only need to go to one registry to get your stuff.
Look for these buttons:
I find it very helpful to open a second different browser when working on making the registry. That way when you are in the popup window adding an item, use the other browser to scroll around the site to gather the information you need about the items. I mean, have 2 browsers open at the same time. That way you don't have to get out of the popup to scroll.
When you set up your registry, please use the arrows to scroll through to the correct picture of the item. This will really help the gift buyers find your item if they can see a picture of the item. Not every item has separate picture, but do try to find a picture of the item you want and pick it. Also, it really helps the gift buyers if you make sure you type in the correct price. You have to do this manually for some items.
When you click Add to Registry for prefold diapers, for example, you get this draft of info which is NOT complete:

Manually type to change it to something like this, so the information is actually there. You can use the arrows to change the picture if needed. Also change the price and type in the gift name clearly, so they know what you want. Type in the NOTES part exactly what appears for the item in the Drop Down Box if you were to add it to the regular cart. That way it's easy for the gift buyer to be sure they are buying the correct item. Like this:

Ok, that is better. Now add it to your registry.
Information for gift buyers
Gift Buyers: You are working with 2 different websites when you buy things from the registry. MyRegistry gives you the information of what the person would like to receive. You can open a whole different browser to buy the items if you want to, or you can use the split screen with Myregistry at the top and GreenMountainDiapers at the bottom. When you click on the link to buy the gift, it will bring you to a pop uo that says "did you buy this gift?" Yes, no, and if so how many?" If you are buying using a different browser, just update the gift there in thet that popup with what you bought. It's not really directly connected to the website you are shopping on. It's really just listing that you can update. It does link you through to GMD, but it's really 2 different websites. It's www.myregistry.com where the list is kept and updated, and www.greenmountiandiapers.com where you shop.
When you are in someone's gift registry and you click the link to buy a gift such as this:

Notice what she typed in the NOTES. She descibed the gift by saying "go to Thirsties Duo Wraps; click on :"Duo Wrap - cool stripes - size two - aplix".
Then when you click on Buy this Gift, it brings you to the covers page where you then click on the word "Thirsties Duo" from the list across the top, or it might bring you to the ThirstiesDuo page depending on how it was set up. Both will work.

When you click on Thristies Duo (or scroll down to until you find the item she wants) you will see it:

If you add it to the Cart, then update the "Did you buy this gift?" part in orange up at the top in myregistry. If not, click no. The sites are separate, so if you have it shipped to the gift registrant directly, you will need to know her shipping address to type it in on the checkout page because most registrants will not put that personal information right out there on the MyRegistry site. Navigate through the greenmountaindiapers site with View Cart and Checkout on the to complete the purchase when you are done shopping. View Cart is at the top right corner of each page. You can get to the checkout from there.
