Pinning Tips: Slide pins into a bar of Ivory Bar Soap. This will really help them slide into the cotton easily. Or, in a pinch, you can run the side of the pin through your hair. The natural oils on your hair will help the pins slide. Sharp pins make it easy. If you find yourself pushing hard to get the pin through the cotton, lubricate the pin with the Ivory Bar Soap. Dritz pins on infant prefold. A right handed mom usually puts the pins on this way, both the same direction. It's easier to pin towards you, not away from you. You keep your fingers between the baby and the prefold.
This way the baby can never get poked. Really! In my 6 years of pinning diapers, I've never stuck the baby.
