Organic cotton inside sewn on each end only for quick drying. It is a lot like the Flip cover with 3 layers of organic cotton sewn into it already like a sling or a hammock. Because the absorbent cotton part is not fully attached to the diaper, I'm not sure you can fully call this an all-in-one in the traditional sense. But diaper wording has changed. Now synthetic pocket diapers that you have to stuff are called all-in-ones but those aren't all-in-ones in the traditional sense either since you have to stuff them and they are not cotton. Anyhow, for older babies it is very likely that you would need to add additional absorbency to this Elemental. The semi-attached layers do make it dry quickly and it will last longer than a fully attached cotton layer, but it won't stay put in there like a fully-attached layer would. It can shift around. It does fit most sizes and shapes of baby. It is roomier than the old fully-attached version from 2012 and earlier. Karen's thoughts: It will have it's place in the diaper bag as an easy to use, long-fitting diaper with organic cotton. After the cord time, it does fit on a new baby from 9 pounds and up. So, if you put one of these in your diaper bag or in your emergency change bag that you keep in your car, then you'd always have a diaper that will continue to fit baby from the start all the way through age 2. With one of these handy, you won't find yourself in a position of having only things that baby as outgrown in your bag, nor will you be missing a piece (diaper, cover, fastener) since it's a one-piece diaper. It might be just the thing for the church nursery volunteer or babysitter to change baby into easily. I don't see this as a full-time diaper, but I sure would be happy to find this in my diaper bag instead of only size smalls when I need a medium, plus it's very easy for non-cloth diapering babysitter to use this. It has a very nice fit, just like the Flip does, over a very large weight, size and age range. The tag says line dry. Made in USA.
